February Five #15
February 15, 2015
It’s Sunday and that means pictures!! I still have a lot of photos of stupid stuff from stores, but I’ll save the rest for next week. Instead here are five photos of good stuff I’ve found. Yes, I have really taken that many pictures of stuff in stores. Maybe I should write a book…

February Five #14
February 14, 2015
So Matt decided to see my little blog post and raise it a few bits. :-) Here’s his take on Next Generation favorites. I have to agree with his favorite doctor – the one on Voyager was given so much more of a role and Robert Picardo made that role his. He owned it. And his favorite episode? It’s the one I hate the most – ughhh! Anyway – go over and see what he has to say – good stuff.
Saturday, February 14
1. No early morning Starbucks – it wasn’t open yet – so had to get a coffee and croissant at Quik Trip. The coffee was not so great, but the pastry was excellent.
2. Practically getting Walmart all to myself because I shopped very early to avoid all the rush.
3. Time spent with Katie on her Day Out With Mom. (I take one of the kids shopping with me every weekend for some one on one time – something we all enjoy).
4. Taking Joe to the store to get another Nintendo ecard so he could get the newest Monster Hunter game download.
5. Blue Bell ice cream to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I figured it was a good treat for sick kids as well as the healthier ones. -
February Five – #13
February 13, 2015
Ah Friday 13th – how quaint. It is also another Friday Movie Night at our house! For the last five weeks, everyone has been home on Friday evenings so I decided to celebrate by watching movies together. Usually with popcorn. Today’s Five are the five movies we’ve watched so far in order:
1. The Lego Movie
2. Monsters University
3. Despicable Me 2
4. Kung Fu Panda 2
5. RobotsIt looks like the movie streak will continue next Friday as well! Hopefully people won’t be sick either – we’ve had a lot around here since November last year and two more people are sick…again. Ugh.

February Five #12
February 12, 2015
In order to appease my son who asked about my favorite Star Trek Next Generation character I will go ahead and address that now. In fact how about a post of Five Next Gen things! Here goes:
1. Favorite Character – Data with Q as a very close second.
2. Favorite Episode – The Inner Light – This is the episode where a probe takes Picard into the lifetime of another man in the span of 20 of our minutes. It is such a bittersweet story but powerful in so many ways.
3. Least Favorite Character – Oh, God, do I have to pick just ONE? Beverly Crusher – I just couldn’t stand her. I much preferred Dr. Pulaski (who most of my family don’t like).
4. I loved Majel Barrett as Deanna Troi’s mother. A couple of shows really touched on cycles in a woman’s life and I really appreciate those. Good stuff – I need to watch those again.
5. I liked the Q episodes in Star Trek Voyager as well – that was also the last of the series I watched. I always felt that Next Gen and Voyager were more faithful to Roddenberry’s original vision.Well, there it is…again. And yes, Matt, that is nod to Emperor Joseph in Amadeus.

February 5:
1. Enjoying taking my time to get ready in the morning instead of rushing. It takes around 20 minutes or so, but it’s well worth it.
2. Could today have been any busier? Don’t answer that! :-)
3. My husband has been leaving a square of Ghiradelli chocolate on my nightstand in the evenings – just what I need after hectic days.
4. And today turned out to be far more hectic than I anticipated.
5. Time for bed. -

4. The Turning Point – one of my favorite movies.
5. Can’t wait until the weekend warmup!
