New Gallery Exhibit
March 12, 2018
It has been a really long time since I posted any pictures in my Sunday Weekend Gallery. Well, I finally got all my pictures uploaded and it’s time to open a new exhibit in the Gallery. Today’s theme is Dumb Food Items Seen in Stores. So, let’s walk along shall we?
It’s Girl Scout cookie time and we all know what that means – more products to capitalize on the high priced cookies. Here we have the “yogurt” – it’s not real yogurt when it’s made to taste like a cookie.
And here we have the cookie cereal. Note the other cookie based cereals that have cropped up. It seems to be a trend – a disturbing trend. Why food for kids has to be “fun” I’ll never know. And let’s face it, these cereals aren’t real food anyway.
And, speaking of disturbing cookies take a look at this box. Yeah, that’s a bear holding up his bear friend for eats. Really? Albeit, these are not as disturbing as the filled Teddy Grahams…ewwww.
Because another major holiday is coming up, we have the obligatory “milks” and “egg nog”. Egg Nog for Easter? The Strawberry Drink isn’t that bad but the others? I think one year they had a drink flavored like those awful Peeps. Nope.
And to round out the food category, a pork tenderloin that is priced with satan’s extension number. I bet that gets clearanced quickly. :-)
Next week I’ll post something other than food items, although it’s hard to resist when every holiday there are an overabundance of holiday “foods” and other items. Can you say “over-marketing”, children? I knew you could.

That thin mint cereal wasn't even any good. The texture was bad and it tasted mostly of slightly minty cardboard...

None of the cereals taste as good as they used to back in the day.

My bowl of cheap Lucky Charms begs to differ. Cap'n Crunch is still top notch, too.
Damn... should've bought Cap'n Crunch.

I'd have to agree - Cap'n Crunch really hasn't changed over the years..thankfully. It was always a favorite of mine.
