Twelve Days of Christmas – Day 12
January 11, 2012
Okay, it’s past the 12th day which was Friday and Epiphany, BUT I really had to wind Christmas up on a high note!
Mike took the lights off the house Sunday and Monday we undecorated the tree – which is always a sad moment in our house. We are Christmas lunatics after all. I usually leave the stable up until February 2, but this time I just put it away – don’t ask me why it was different this year. It was a wonderful Christmas, except I lost my focus somewhere. When the presents were opened, the cookies eaten, and all was right with the world, THAT was when I felt like I was ready for Christmas to begin. I was relaxed, focused, and ready finally. Go figure. This year I need to be more balanced and I’m going to add some new traditions as well.
The one thing I wanted more than anything else – my Red Ryder BB Gun if you will – was an Erin Condren Life Planner. I received money for Christmas and decided, what the hell, let’s just do it! So I did. It arrived Saturday and I am SO happy with it!! It is personal, colorful, and it has TABS!! Yeah, I’m one of those people who is addicted to organizers, binders, notebooks, etc. and TABS made my day. So, let’s take a look at it shall we?
Here is how it arrived – in this gorgeous box – the pattern on the front of the box covers the back of the box. See, even the box is cool!
I opened the box and it was all wrapped in pretty paper and there was an envelope with complimentary gift stickers as well! And that business card? Really nice heavy cardstock – some day I’d like to get some of my own. But first I think I need to get out of the house and meet people :-).
Here it is in all it’s glory!
On the front it has my name, but also my 10 Commandments of Alice per The Happiness Project. I had chosen the favorites cover, but decided on something different – more meaningful to me. That’s another post though. Here is the inside:
The colors for each month are fantastic, there are two pockets in the back, AND a pencil case if you will. So, it now resides on my desk in the office ready to be filled and it brings me joy whenever I look at it.
This year I am going to use the envelope system to save $5 a month for my next one – that way it will seem saner to spend that much money on a planner. I even know which cover and what picture I will put on it too. See, I’m planning for my planner? I’m weird that way.
