This and That Thursday
July 21, 2011
It’s time for the return of….This and That Thursday! Here’s a few of the highlights:
1. Becky lost her first tooth on Monday.
2. Becky also got her own library card today.
3. I found a different way to scrapbook here. Even though they are out of the kits, I was able to get a binder, photo sleeves, and journaling cards to start and they’ll be here tomorrow!! Will talk more about it later – stay tuned!
4. Bought the real Bambi book by Felix Salten and I’ve read the first three chapters already – very good!
5. Bought a book on nature study so that we can do more outside stuff this school year – should be fun.
6. The car will go in tommorrow (Friday) – hopefully it’s an easy fix and we get it back same day. If not, our big pizza feast on Sunday will be postponed another week.
Well, that’s my week in a nutshell – hope yours is going well!

I didn't realize Bambi was a book, but I guess I should've. Disney hasn't had an original movie idea before or after Emperor's New Groove.
Spoilers - Bambi's mom dies.

Just don't tell the kids that - it's going to be a read-aloud next month. But yeah, I didn't realize it either until I was reading another book that was set in 1936 and she was talking about reading "Bambi" to her kids. So, I googled it (naturally) and - voila! - the rest is history. It was a bestseller in its day if I remember right.

Yes you may :-). It will be on Sunday and I will take pictures and blog about it. It will be something to remember because we have not all been to a restaurant - all 10 of us - in a really long time.

I need to finish building our ark (can't believe I'd say that in July) and I'll push off. :)

I saw that on Weather Channel - people dancing in flooded streets in Chicago!! You are SO lucky though - we heard thunder today, but it all fizzled by the time it got here. Even if it could just get cooler - like 90 - I'd go for that.
