Makeup Haul!!
January 2, 2011
Yes, I got to buy all new makeup today! I was actually out of everything, so this was a rare experience indeed! It all started when I learned of Maybelline’s new Fit Me line, so I decided to check it out. It looked good, was inexpensive, and Wal-Mart had some of it in so I went for it. Here’s what I bought:
1. Purity Made Simple cleanser by Philosophy: This is THE best cleanser ever because it does what it says it does – takes off every trace of makeup.
2. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 120: The color may actually be too dark, but we’ll see. I can always exchange it or wait until it’s gone and replace with 115. I realized that I don’t need the lightest shade possible because it just washes me out. I’m re-learning how to find the right shade.
3. Maybelline Fit Me Powder: I don’t usually buy powder, but it could be nice to have. Also in shade 120 – the colors all coordinate.
4. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer 10: I usually don’t buy concealer either, but it’s time. It may help cover the rosacea and my under eye circles as well.
5. Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Light Pink: This is a nice light pink that I think will do nicely. They also have a Light Nude that I’d like to see if it would be good maybe for summertime. Unfortunately Wal-Mart did not have this color in so will have to wait to see what the color looks like.
6. Cover Girl Professional Mascara in Brown: This is the best drugstore mascara ever in my book. Not cakey or gloppy, just straight up darkening and maybe a little lengthening.
7. Maybelline Eye Shadow Quad in Chic Naturals: This is totally new – it has an eye shadow base, 2 shadows, and a liner – really cool! The colors are very natural and you can use it in a myriad of ways. It even has a diagram on the back of the package.
8. Essie Nail Color in Mademoiselle: Wal-Mart had a huge display of Essie products and I couldn’t resist! It has been forever since I wore nail polish and the pretty natural pink just drew me in what can I say? I think the little girls will like it too :-).
The one thing I forgot was an eyebrow pencil – will have to go back for that. I haven’t bought any eyebrow anything in a while so it may take some time to get the right product. I’ll keep you posted.
So there you have it – my makeup haul. Being a girl is SO much fun!!

Love it! Maybe you are a blend of the two foundations, mixing just a little of the darker into the light in winter, gradually going to the darker in summer?
I love the pink polish best, and I'm glad you bought something that has no other purpose than to say, "pretty!" :^ )
Nice treat!

Glad to get this site from your Christmas card. Your mom and I have been friends/penpals since the '70s. I'm enjoying your blog and will view it often. We wish you and your family a wonderful new year. Hugs, Sue

Hey Lisa - OMG I just now saw your comment so I'm REALLY sorry for being so late on a reply. Glad to see you here too and don't be a stranger!
I hadn't thought about blending the foundations but I'll remember that. I am going to have to go for the lighter one - #115. I wish they had the light beige colors so I could see what those looked like.
The nail polish is awesome! It really wears well so I think it's a keeper. Probably get another color for spring or summer too.
I have been having more fun with all my fluff than you can imagine - did I ever tell you I used to be a makeup junkie??
