Oh Crap Moment – Day After Thanksgiving
November 26, 2010
I awakened when I thought I’d heard something like a kid crying, but wasn’t sure. Then, when I had decided to get out of bed to check I heard Matt say, “Oh Crap!”
At first I thought he’d forgotten to take Chris in to work (he had to be there at 3am), but then when I looked in the bathroom from my bedroom door I realized that someone had puked – all over the floor. It was Katie, “I’m not feeling very good”, she said. Poor kid – too much Thanksgiving food.
Matt offered to clean it, but I decided to do it myself – I had him take care of Katie and make sure she changed her clothes. So, there I was at 4am on my hands and knees in the kids’ bathroom cleaning the floor. Ah well that’s life. And I’m sure it won’t be the last time to do that either.
BTW Matt – thanks again for helping this morning – both taking Chris to work and helping with Katie and offering to clean the mess. You will make a fine dad someday – you’ve certainly had enough practice at these kinds of things!

I have been married for either 39 really long or really short years depending on how my day is going.
Even though I have homeschooled my children for the last 30 years, I am certainly no supermom - unless you count the days I have to rescue my daughters from a moth in their room.
I love coffee, chocolate, and music from the 80's. I enjoy reading books, chick flicks, and thirtysomething.

I think I was more out of it than I realized at the time. I went downstairs and was trying to figure out what it was we used to clean floor messes up with. Best my brain could come up with was broom and paper towels.
Perhaps it's been too long since I last cleaned up a puke mess :P

Hehehe - yeah, I think you were just out of it. I didn't even think to tell you where to find the cleaner until last minute either. Too early in the morning for that kind of thing.
